For using and buying Transcribe Today. Last changed 26 October 2026.
In short: you buy credit in advance, counted in seconds of audio: €2 an hour for recorded files and €3 an hour live, plus VAT. No subscription, and credit does not expire. The first hour is free to test it on your own audio. Speech recognition makes mistakes, so check the text before you rely on it. If you buy as a consumer, you can withdraw within 14 days and get back what you have not used.
Transcribe Today is run by Piko Media Lans, a sole proprietorship in Sweden, approved for F-tax and registered for VAT ("we"). You reach us at hello@pikoman.se. By opening an account, or by buying credit, you accept these terms.
Transcribe Today turns speech into text for your own product: live, over WebSocket or WebTransport, and from recorded files. You sign in with GitHub, get a dashboard, an API key and a signing key, and let your users connect with grants your server signs. You may sell it on as part of your own product.
Larger volumes, invoices or a data processing agreement: write to us and we will make an offer.
A new account gets one hour free, once per GitHub account, if the GitHub account is at least 30 days old. It is there for you to test the quality on your own audio before you buy. It is not money and cannot be paid out.
If you buy as a consumer, you have 14 days from the purchase to withdraw from it under the EU rules on distance contracts. When you tick the box at checkout, you ask us to deliver the credit at once, so you can use it straight away. Your right of withdrawal stays all the same:
A business buying for its trade has no right of withdrawal.
You only pay for text we deliver. A file that cannot be transcribed, or fails on our side, is not charged: the time is not taken from your credit. If the service does not work because of us, write to us as soon as you notice; we fix it, give the time back, or pay back what did not work. If you were charged twice for the same thing, we pay one back. Otherwise unused credit is not paid back after the 14 days in section 5.
The text is made by automatic speech recognition, and it will contain mistakes: in names, jargon and numbers, with accents and dialects, when people speak over each other, and with poor audio. Telling speakers apart can be wrong too. We do not guarantee any level of accuracy. You are responsible for checking the text before you, or your users, rely on it, and for telling your users that it is machine-made.
Use the service only for what is lawful. No unlawful interception, no transcribing people you have no right to record, nothing that infringes anyone's rights, and no attempts to get around the limits, break into the service or overload it. Keep your keys secret: what is done with them counts as done by you. We may close an account that breaks these terms.
We try to keep the service running day and night, but promise no uptime. It may be down for maintenance or faults. Our status page shows how it is doing now.
We are not liable for indirect loss, such as lost income or lost data, or for the consequences of mistakes in a machine-made text. Our liability is limited to what you have paid us in the last 12 months. These limits do not apply where we caused the damage on purpose or by gross negligence, or where the law does not allow them. Nothing in these terms limits the rights a consumer has under law.
You can stop using the service whenever you like and ask us to delete your account. If we close the service, we tell you in good time and pay back credit you have bought but not used.
We tell you at least 30 days before a change to these terms that affects you. A purchase keeps the terms that were here when it was made.
Swedish law applies, and disputes are settled by a Swedish court. A consumer can also turn to the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes (ARN), and keeps the protection of the law where they live.
